My Broadcasting Corporation has sold Shoreline’s Oldies, the Kincardine based radio station to Lakeshore Broadcasting, pending approval from the CRTC.

President of Lakeshore Broadcasting, Greg Hetherington says he wants to keep the focus on everything local, much like stations owned in Wallaceburg and Listowel.

“We want to be working for the communities of Port Elgin, Kincardine and Goderich. That’s the most important part, I want to see more local activity. I think the team here agrees, want to be localized and talk more about what’s happening in your own backyard.” said Hetherington.

Hetherington added while some minor changes will be made, listeners can expect a drive on all local delivered content with great music from artists everyone remembers and loves.

Nick Cadotte, VP of Lakeshore Broadcast & GM of the Ranch 100.1FM in Listowel says that making local connections and keeping advertising available to businesses of any size is important.

“With the launch of 100.1 The Ranch last fall we’ve witnessed the need for local content and affordable advertising rates.  Our station’s that we operate, highlight the community assets and the people who are the newsmakers each day. We are excited to expand our commitment to new communities”.
