The next phase for those to get a COVID-19 vaccine is getting closer.

As Wellington County has its first mass vaccination site open in Fergus and the province is nearing its next part of the vaccine rollout, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is allowing certain individuals to pre-book for their vaccine dose.

Adults aged 80 and older, Indigenous adults aged 55 and older, long term care and retirement home staff and healthcare workers are among those eligible to pre-book an appointment for a vaccine.

The province is not yet ready for the next phase, nor are family doctors reaching out to book doses, WDG is only allowing pre-booking for the time being.
