Health Canada is warning Canadians about a recall involving more than 600 snowmobilers, with it’s manufacturer posting on its website the potential issue poses an amputation hazard.
The recall involves the model year 2021 Toro Power Max 826 OHAE snow thrower with model 37802 and UPC 021038378022.
The model and UPC can be found on a sticker at the rear of the snow thrower, Health Canada said in it’s recall warning.
Affected products were manufactured in Juarez, Mexico between September 21st, 2020 and December 29th, 2020.
The identified hazard involves the roll pins located in the handle latch assembly that could crack and fall out, preventing the auger/impeller from being disengaged, Health Canada said.
“This would cause the auger/impeller to spin at full speed any time the engine is running, posing a potential injury hazard to user,” according ot the recall statement.
