The Ontario government is again moving its target date on having residents in long-term care, high risk retirement and First Nations elder care homes vaccinated from COVID-19.

The initial date originally of February 15th was moved to February 5th but the new target date is for February 10th. The move in delays is a result of halted arrivals of new doses of the vaccine. This week, vaccination teams will be traveling to remote First Nations communities in the north as part of Operation Remote Immunity.

Ontario had plans to greatly accelerate vaccinations but since then the federal government confirmed the province would see a significant reduction in new doses.
