Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance has declared an outbreak on the surgery unit at the Stratford General Hospital after three staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
All affected staff are self-isolating and will not return to work until they finish their quarantine. In a release, the healthcare alliance said no patients have yet tested positive and all outbreak measures are in place.
There is no evidence of transmission to any other patient-care areas in the hospital. Family and caregiver access to the surgery unit has been restricted with the exception of palliative patients.
The hospital remains open for scheduled clinics, procedures and emergency visits.
