Perth-Wellington MP John Nater has announced long awaited emergency support funds for nine local legion branches.
Organizations like the Legion have taken a big hit from the pandemic without being able to hold events or rent out their facility. Just under 90 thousand dollars will be distributed nine local branches. Branches in Mitchell, Listowel and Harriston are among those to receive support.
Casey Fraser from the Listowel legion says the Veterans Organization Emergency Funding will help pay ongoing expenses like utilities and insurance and to continue work for veterans, seniors and youth in the community.
