The Federal Government is investigating a loophole in the Canadian Recovery Sickness Benefit Program that could be unintentionally providing $1000 to returning travelers who are forced to miss work due to quarantine requirements when they return from travel.
The benefit was actually intended for people who follow health guidelines to avoid non-essential travel and through no doing of their own contract Covid-19 and are forced to miss half their scheduled work week.
The government has received and approved more than 450,000 applications for the CRSB since September.
