The mental health of Canadians has definitely taken a hit since the start of the pandemic last March.
The Canadian Mental Health Association has released the findings of two studies on the changing in our mental health; one done in May and the other in September.
Anxiety disorders were one of the most commonly reported mental illnesses in Canada before the pandemic.
The rate of anxiety jumped to around 20 percent in May 4 times the pre-pandemic amount.
By September this had nearly doubled again to 38 percent.
Depression which sat at 4.7% of those aged 15 and over in Canada has doubled to between 10 and 13 percent.
