OPP Investigating Fatal Collision in West Perth

Driver of car transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased

Perth County OPP are on the scene of a fatal collision involving a car and a snowplow south of Mitchell.

Just before 8:30pm on December 19th the Perth County OPP, Paramedic Service and West Perth Fire Department responded to a collision at the intersection of Perth Road 164 (Highway 23) and Line 32 just south of Mitchell.

A car travelling westbound on Line 32 and a snowplow travelling northbound on Perth Road 164 collided at the intersection. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign in the east and west directions.

The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. A passenger of the car was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the snowplow was not injured.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are enroute to assist with the investigation. The area of Road 164 between Frank Street and Perth Line 29, and Line 32 between Road 168 and 160 remains closed as the investigation continues.
