Wellington County OPP have charged a teen with racing after a radar trap caught them driving in excess of 140 in an 80 zone.
On December 15th just before 10 am officers were monitoring traffic with radar on Wellington Road 12 in Mapleton Township.
The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that was well above the posted 80 limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 kilometers per hour.
An 18 year old male of London has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in a Guelph courtroom on May 5, 2021. Their vehicle and driver’s license were seized for a period of 7 days.
