The first COVID-19 vaccine has been administered in Ontario.
A personal support worker from a Toronto long term care home received the first dose at the University Health Network. The province received 6000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine on Sunday and intends to begin administering them this week.
The distribution plan for the first set is to deliver to long term care residents and their caregivers where cases are out of control such as the GTA. A set of Ottawa careworkers in a long term care home will receive their vaccine shots today.
