Huron Perth Public Health held a media update this afternoon to update the residents of Huron Perth on the latest covid 19 information.
There are 18 new cases of Covid 19 diagnosed in Huron Perth. 9 in North Perth, 4 in Perth East and 5 in Stratford.
There are 5 people currently in hospital due to Covid.
HPPH Minister of Health Miriam Klassen also announced that 2 Cedarcroft residents who had not previously tested positive on arrival to the hospital had tested positive near the end of their isolation.
“The fact that they became positive so close to the end of their isolation is under investigation if there was another source.”
7 Healthcare workers are currently covid positive.
There are 2 active outbreaks at Longterm Care Homes 1 active school outbreak and 2 retirement home outbreaks.
Huron Perth is currently dealing with an average of 50 cases of covid 19 for contact tracing right with over 350 related contacts that need to be contacted.
Dr. Klassen says all health measures need to be followed.
