Small towns are usual home to some dedicated people with a good sense of community.
This is no more true than in the village of Blyth. Annie Sparling was recently named Blyth Citizen of the Year and she credits volunteering with her success in the community.
“I want to encourage people to volunteer because it is extremely rewarding. You get back much more than you give.” said Sparling.
Sparling has multiple roles in the community from her work with the Blyth Community Betterment Group to her worth with the Blyth BIA to her being the driving force behind the Blyth Hometown Holiday Weekend that brings several holiday themed events to the village over the course of the weekend.
