The rising number of Covid-19 cases in Northern Communities in Waterloo Region have their roots in Mount Forest.
It seems a wedding held last month there has already been identified as a root cause in 96 cases of Covid-19 across North Wellesley and North Woolwich.
The rural infection rate has grown to be more than twice the regional rate turning the outskirts into a pandemic hot spot.
New Covid data shows infections in areas populated by old order families are the highest in the region, at over double the rates seen in the more densely populated areas of Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo.
This wasn’t revealed until public health recently broke out rural infections it had previously suppressed due to privacy concerns.
