North Perth Mayor Todd Kasenberg was met with silence from his fellow councillors after bringing forward a motion to Perth County Council on November 19th.
Kasenberg was looking to establish an inclusivity and anti-racism charter and committee.
The action was in hopes of strengthening inclusivity in the County.
This inaction from Perth comes in contrast to the Region of Waterloo hosting anti-racism town halls and the City of Stratford and Township of Wellesley petitioning both provincial and federal governments on strengthening laws on banning unacceptable symbols.
Despite the shutdown at Council Kasenburg says he will continue to work ensuring Perth County is a welcoming place for people to work and live.
