Speeding has become a serious problem in Perth County for the OPP as they have made several charges against excessive speed the past few weeks.
August 28th just after 5am, police stopped a vehicle on Main Street East in Listowel travelling 155km in a 80km zone.
August 29th just before 8:30pm police stopped a vehicle on Line 29, in the Township of Perth East travelling 128km in a 70km zone.
August 30th just after 9pm, police stopped a vehicle on Line 20 travelling at 154km in an 80 zone in the Municipality of West Perth.
September 1st just after 12pm, police stopped a vehicle on Line 26 in the Township of East Perth travelling at 157km in an 80km zone.
September 4th just after 2pm, police stopped a vehicle on Perth Road 131 in the Township of Perth East travelling at 114km in a 60km zone.
September 6th just after 8:30pm, police stopped a vehicle on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East travelling at 150km in an 80km zone.
All incidents resulted in a seven day driving suspension, seven day vehicle impoundment and were all charged with excessive speed. The accused are all scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Stratford at a later date.
