Van Allen Insurance in town is looking at expansion.
The application submitted to North Perth was discussed on June 19th to receive a zoning bylaw amendment as well as a Listowel Ward Official Plan Amendment.
Changes are being requested at their location at 622 Elma Street West who are looking to expand the office to meet the demand of a growing population, changing from residential to highway commercial.
Caroline Baker, representing the Van Allen’s says their current business location can expand without disturbing neighbours.
“This business does require this larger property to accommodate the needs and its our opinion that the site overall has sufficient space and setbacks to address the site needs along with appropriate buffering and needs for privacy to neighbouring property owners.” said Baker.
Council received the report given for information with staff to return soon to provide a recommendation regarding the zoning bylaw amendment.
