8 Year Old Loses Life in London after Serious Crash Monday

One 8 year old has succumbed to her injuries. 6 people remain in Hospital in Good and Fair Condition.

The London Police and the Traffic Management Unit continue to investigate a serious collision involving pedestrians last night.

At least 1 vehicle and 10 pedestrians were struck by the involved vehicle, which was being driven by a 76 year old woman.

The pedestrians were walking eastbound together on Riverside Drive, just west of Wonderland, in London when they were struck by a westbound vehicle.

The involved vehicle struck another vehicle stopped at a red light on Riverside Drive, continued through the red light, mounted the curb and struck a light standard and small tree before the pedestrians were struck.

Ten female pedestrians including children and adults, between the ages of 6 and 40, sustained injuries as a result, with a number transported to hospital.

An 8 year old child, who sustained serious injuries has died.

One adult and four children remain in fair condition. One child is in good condition and one teen and two children were treated for minor injuries and have been released.

The investigation continues.
