The Humane Society of Stratford-Perth has found 8 large dogs left abandoned in Perth County.
On March 23rd staff responded to several reports of dogs running loose around Mitchell with animal services able to secure four dogs safely with four more caught the following week and brought into care.
“We suspect all eight dogs are from the same household as many have similar features and are roughly the same age” said Stratford Perth Animal Centre Manager, Amber Gaynor.
“All dogs came in with dirty coats, some had matted fur, one was suffering from an ear infection, another needed a dental cleaning, and all suffered from varying levels of being underweight,”
Four dogs remain left for adoption with one still needing medical care.
The humane society adds OPP is investigating the incident.
