Upper Thames River Conservation Authority Warns of Rising Water Levels

A recent storm has the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has issued a warning across streams and rivers rising in the area.

Rainfall has been accompanied with warmer temperatures melting snow packs.

Parents are reminded to keep children and pets away from watercourses and off frozen bodies of water.

Rising water levels are not safe on riverbanks or low lying areas. Officials say snow packs typically contain around 30-35mm of water.

The Conservation Authority is urging everyone to exercise extreme caution, flood control reservoirs are especially hazardous due to fluctuating water levels.
