West Region OPP say drivers are still showing risky behaviors at the conclusion of the Stop. Look. Live campaign.
Running from June 15th-21st, OPP put a major focus on intersection safety with officers engaging in targeted enforcement and public education initiatives aimed at reducing high risk driving behaviors.
Officers over the safety campaign noticed drivers failing to comply with traffic laws designed to prevent serious and fatal collisions.
Police across the West Region laid a total 354 charges and issued 126 warnings with the offences mainly being Failure to Stop at Stop Signs, Failure to Stop for Red or Amber Lights and Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
There was 46 intersection related crashes with 1 fatal crash, 15 resulting in injuries and 30 property damage collisions.
