The collision is believed to have occurred when a Honda Civic, which had been travelling north on Road 130 went through a stop sign and collided with two vehicles travelling on Line 20.

It is believed that the Honda initially struck a Chrysler Pacifica that had been heading east, causing the two vehicles to then collide with a Chevrolet Equinox that had been heading west.

The driver of the Pacifica was air lifted by helicopter to a hospital in London, where treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries was provided.

Two young children, a 3 year and 1 year old from the Pacifica were also transported to hospital as a precaution, later released with no injuries.

The drivers of the other 2 vehicles were transported to Stratford General Hospital and later released after receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Collision reconstruction expects from the Stratford Police attended the scene to investigate and it was closed down for several hours.

Police would like to thank the many passerby and witnesses who provided immediate first aid to the involved drivers and passengers and provided information about the incident.

Several tickets were issued to drivers who drove around the road closure signs and attempted to drive directly through the scene of the collision where officers were investigating.

Drivers are reminded that they are not permitted to by-pass road closure signs for their own safety and the safety of others. Failure to do so can result in a ticket being issued under the Highway Traffic Act.
