26 People facing over 100 Charges after 9 Search Warrants Executed Across Region

The 26 accused have been charged with 111 offenses. They are scheduled to appear in Owen Sound, Walkerton, Goderich and Stratford courts on various dates in October.

 

Twenty-six people are facing over 100 charges under the controlled substance act after the execution of 9 search warrants earlier this week in “Project Carlina”.

The OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Street Crimes Unit of Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth begin the investigation in May 2022 after an increase in overdoses in Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce Counties.

On September 21st members of the multiple departments executed the warrants in Huron, Perth, South Bruce, Grey, and Owen Sound.

Over the investigation police seized suspected methamphetamine (160g), fentanyl (50g), cocaine (60g), carfentanyl (6g), and 80 morphine and over 140 hydromorphone pills. Police also recovered a variety of stolen property valued at more than $36,000 and over $6,000 in cash. Two firearms were also seized.

The approximate street value of the drugs was $25,600.

The 26 accused have been charged with 111 offenses.
