On July 1st, just moments before 11pm, Perth County OPP Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E Program on Perth Line 20 in the Municipality of West Perth.
While officers conducted the program a vehicle entered, it was noted the driver had open alcohol in the vehicle.
The 22 year-old driver admitted to consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device was for further testing and the driver was soon arrested.
The driver was then transported to a local operations center for continued further testing.
The driver refused to provide breath samples as required by law.
The driver has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand, and the vehicle is impounded for 7 days.
The 22 year-old has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
