22 Year Old Driver Clocked at Over 170 in a 90 Zone in Morris-Turnberry

Driver could face a fine of between $2,000 and $10,000, a jail sentence of up to 6 months, or both on conviction of street racing or stunt driving.

Huron County Police have charged a 22 year old Wingham resident with Racing a Motor Vehicle Excessive Speed following a traffic stop last night east of Wingham.

At approximately 9:04 pm an officer was on Amberley Road when he observed an SUV travelling eastbound at an extremely high rate of speed. The vehicle was caught on radar travelling over 170km in a posted 90.

The driver had their vehicle impounded for 14 and their license suspended for 30 days.

Police advise that upon conviction of street racing, or stunt driving, offenders can face a fine between $2,000 and $10,000, a jail sentence of up to six months or both.
