A Huron-Kinloss resident is out $215,000 after falling victim to a cryptocurrency scam.
On March 2nd police responded to the address where it was learned the victim got a utilities bill which was higher than expected.
From conversation the victim was told there was a processing error and told to make crypto transactions to fix the problem though this was nothing more than a scam.
The victim ended up losing around $215,000.
Residents are being urged to be cautious when engaging in digital currency investments as they can often appear legitimate and lead to path to victim losing their banking and personal information.
