Stratford Police say one person is in the hospital after a crash Thursday morning.
At around 11:45am Stratford Police responded to the crash at the intersection of Downie Street and St Patrick Street between a silver Buick and blue Yamaha motorcycle.
The 18 year old motorcycle driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries which had ORNGE initially requested to transport the 18 year old to London but the call was canceled after arriving at the Stratford General Hospital.
The 81 year old driver of the Buick was not injured.
It was determined the driver of the motorcycle was travelling southbound on Downie Street at a high rate of speed.
The driver passed a vehicle just north of St Patrick Street and entered the northbound lane of Downie Street.
At that time the 81-year-old driver of the car was crossing Downie Street travelling east from St Patrick Street to Douro Street.
The driver of the motorcycle struck the rear driver’s side door of the Buick within the northbound lane, and was ejected from the motorcycle.
The 18 year old was charged by police for Careless Driving, Driving without Insurance and No License Plates.
