Wellington County has added up to 108 Licenesed Child Care Spaces with the help of a program over the summer.
Wellington County launched the Home Child Care Provider Recruitment Campaign from July 1st-August 31st.
This campaign was aimed to recruit new licensed home child care providers for Wellington County and the City of Guelph.
In March 2020, Wellington Home Child Care had 45 active providers across the county and the city but dropped to 27 by 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Social Services Chair David Anderson says adding 108 new licensed child spaces in our service delivery area in just 2 months will help support parents and caregivers so they are able to take part in the labour force or pursue educational opportunities.
