Parade Routes Could Change in Stratford

Parade routes in question over regards to safety

There could be some massive changes coming to the parade routes in Stratford.

As construction is getting done on Huron Street, safety remains as the biggest concern for the city and have proposed and to have the annual Canada Day Parade to be kept to local streets and not allow future parades to connecting link highways such as Ontario Street or Huron Street.

Public Works Manager Adam Ryan says, even with current construction, safety must always be a priority for parades.

“Health and safety concerns are at the forefront of this report. Its the city’s responsibility to ensure that all members of the public, volunteers and employees have a safe environment to view and manage these parades.” said Ryan.

Stratford council will discuss this matter in the future and if passed, will be brought back for another review next year.
