OPP Investigating Break & Enter and Theft from Clinton Business

Huron County OPP are investigating an overnight break and enter and theft from Clinton earlier this week.

Sometime between 6pm on August 23rd and 7am on August 24th a thief forced entry into an Albert Street business and stole around $2000 worth of merchandise and equipment. Items stolen included lotions, cosmetics and stereo equipment.

Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Huron County OPP would like to offer the following tips to help property owners protect their property.

·        Deter potential criminals. Ensure outside lights work and consider motion sensor lighting

·        Prevent break and enters. Keep garage doors and entry doors secure at all times

·        Lock doors and windows. Even if you’re going out for a short time. Install quality locks and a deadbolt on each outside door.

·        Avoid access by intruders. Lock your vehicles at all times. Remove or secure valuables out of sight, even when in the garage.

·        Store bicycles and other valuables in garages and sheds.

·        Trees, shrubs and fences can create hiding spots for criminals. Keep your landscaping groomed and limit privacy fencing.

·        Watch for suspicious people or activity in your neighbourhood. If you see something, say something! Don’t hesitate to call police if something seems out of place.
