OFA Launches Online Training Program for New Agriculture Workers

Program teaches regular safety practices while working on a farm

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture is launching an online training program for those new to working in agriculture.

Created alongside the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, the program awards The Ontario Agriculture Worker Safety and Awareness Certificate helping job seekers become better familiar with farm safety and making it much easier for employers to train their new employees.

The program offers e-learning modules providing an overview of health and safety on the farm, introductions to farm equipment and safety practices as well as both crop and livestock operations. The modules are built to be completed at the participants own pace, averaging around 8-10 hours and done completely online.

The certificate is part of Feeding Your Future. To register for the training certificate, visit FeedingYourFuture.ca
