North Perth Building Department Building Code Compliance Statement

 

The North Perth Building Department has issued a statement regarding the Building Code Compliance within the municipality.

This comes after multiple Listowel businesses have raised up their issues with the department on a range of issues from rising costs, lack of accountability, issues being raised multiple years after opening their business and more.

The department says they remain committed to transparency, efficiency and above all the health and safety of community members.

The statement notes the building department encourages open dialogue and collaboration to address any concerns and ensure their procedures align with the highest standards of building safety and regulatory compliance.

The Province has established the Building Code Commission. The Commission resolves
disputes on:

• whether technical requirements of the Building Code are followed in a building or
structure (compliance)
• time periods for site inspections
• time periods for processing permit applications
Any applicant may submit their concerns to the Commission to be heard. Additional
