Ashley Fox of Palmerston Seeking Liberal Nomination

Ontarians to head to the polls in June

Ashley Fox of Palmerston is seeking the Liberal candidate nomination within Perth-Wellington as the provincial election gets closer.

The 33 year old registered practical nurse who grew up in Harriston says many concerns raised over healthcare put her step forward in seeking the Liberal nomination.

Fox says both before and during the pandemic there were things highlighted regarding healthcare.

“The long term care sector, the pandemic really did focus on a lot of the concerns that we have either on a funding level or a legislative level. Prior to the pandemic we had seen concerns with home care so seeing what seniors qualify for, the level that we need to improve on is significant.” said Fox.

In regards to agriculture, Fox says its important to always look into your own backyard and avoid looking elsewhere and keep the support as local as possible.

“If we have the supplies and the access to funds that our agriculture teams need then we don’t need to rely on external factors like out province, American resources and things of that nature. If we can support local, this is the time.”

Ontarians will head to the polls in June with no incumbent as Randy Pettapiece announced his retirement last year.
