GRCA Issues Flood Outlook Across Watershed

Given the increase of showers throughout the day and into Friday the Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood outlook across the watershed.

With as much as 40-50mm of rain expected with a risk of thunderstorms there will be increased river flows across the area.

Based on the forecast there is no significant flooding expected but river flows in local waterways will be higher than normal with an increase in low lying areas for flooding.

The public is asked to exercise caution around all local waterways with rivers and creeks being slippery and cold which can pose a serious hazard.

Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all watercourses.
