Perth County is offering their condolences with the passing of former Warden and Perth County council member Robert McTavish.
The eldest of 7 siblings Bob McTavish was born and raised on a farm in North Easthope Township which would later become a ward during amalgamation of Perth East.
Bob’s political career began in 1985 with North Easthope council and in 1998 was elected Reeve. Bob also served as Perth County Warden from December 1992 to December 1993.
Bob also held the role of Mayor of Perth East from 2000-2006 and ended his career as a councilor for Perth East from 2006-2010.
In 2010 the province recognized Bob’s lengthy political tenure and local impact with a Long Standing Service Award where Bob was acknowledge as an elected official with at least 25 years of service in his career.
