Conners Helping Grow the Message of Working Smoke Alarms

Listowel’s Corey Conners has partnered up with local fire stations to highlight the importance of working smoke detectors.

Conners alongside the fire departments in North Perth, Minto, Mapleton and Wellington North helps deliver the message on the importance of having working smoke alarms and testing them.

John McBeth, Deputy Fire Marshall, Training Certification and Public Education says having someone such as Corey Conners to grow this message will help reach more people.

“Corey Conners being the expert in golf that he is, is an opportunity for us to broaden our reach and Corey is a huge advocate for fire safety. His family understands the importance of working smoke alarms and having him promote that community message is important because that’s how Ontarians are going to resonate with a message and start taking things seriously” said McBeth.

North Perth Fire Chief Janny Pape echoed comments from McBeth saying only working smoke alarms save lives.
