Winter Tier Pricing Set to Start in November

Winter Tiered pricing is set to take effect next week for households and small businesses.

As of November 1st under the Regulated Price Plan, the Winter Time of Use hours will change for residential customers on Tiered pricing.

Starting next Tuesday, off peak will be priced at 7.4 cents per kilowatt hour, mid peak at 10.2 cents and off at 15.1 cents.

As usual, weekends and holidays will remain as off peak for 24 hours.

Also taking effect, the Ontario government’s Ontario Electricity Rebate will change to 11.7 per cent.

The rebate is an pre-tax credit which appears at the bottom of electricity bills.

A typical residential customer who uses 700 kilowatts of electricity per month, the rebate would decrease bills by around $13.91 each month.
