Wingham ER Temporary Closure moved up to 5pm Friday

The temporary closure of the Wingham ER by the Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance that was set to begin tonight at 9pm and last until tomorrow at 9am has now been moved up 4 hours.

It sees the Emergency Room close at 5pm and end Saturday morning at 9am.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency during the closure.

Ambulances will remain available to the community and re-route to surrounding hospitals.

LWHA says the measure is temporary and their staff, board, physician and leadership regret they had to take the step.
