Wingham Emergency Department Closure extended until Sunday at 7pm

The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance provided an update Saturday afternoon, that as a result of ongoing healthcare staff shortages, the Wingham & District Hospital Emergency Department would be closed until Sunday, November 20th at 7pm.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS will remain available to the community and will be re-routed to surrounding hospitals to ensure they continue to have access to emergency services they need.

The LWHA says the closure is a temporary measure and their staff, board, physicians and leadership regret that they had to take this step.
