In a recent report to council, the cost of the demolition for the Wingham Armouries is currently over budget.
Removal of hazardous material has been done, building contents are gone and demolition is well underway but recent findings of more hazardous material has added extra costs to the project. Paving of the area still has not happened.
Council approved a cost back in March of $112,198.60 for the demolition but so far has been set to cost $116,015.52.
Council for the time being has voted to delay the paving of the area to allow a better discussion on the matter.
