The West Perth Fire Station will be conducting an audibility test tonight at 6pm with the fire station siren going off twice lasting 60-90 seconds each.
No action will be required by residents in response to the siren but feedback is being accepted on a proposed reinstatement of the West Perth Fire Station Siren.
Emergency sirens have been a long time use to summon firefighters when there is a call.
Firefighters have said based on where they are, their pager does not always work.
If the siren is reinstated the community will be informed on protocol and schedules in place.
As it stands around the community, Milverton and Sebringville operate fire sirens between 7am-7pm.
