West Perth Police Service have been able to break down the more dangerous times at Russeldale and Bornholm intersections.
Sunday afternoons in July between 12-4pm showed it was the most dangerous in Russeldale according to West Perth OPP Sargent Jason McTaggart in a recent meeting.
Over the last 5 years there have 22 motor vehicle collisions at the intersection of Highway 23 (Perth Road 164) and Perth Line 20 which included 2 fatalities and six causing personal injury. Seven of the collisions occurring in July on Sunday afternoons.
Recent changes however have seen a sharp decline in collisions this year as only 1 has been reported.
Enhancements have included rumble strips, enhanced flashing red lights on stop signs and messages such as “Look Twice, Save a Life” signs.
Council will continue to work to ensure the roads remain safe and collisions stay low.
