West Perth council has approved the 2026 Mayors Budget following a review under the new Ontario Strong Mayor Budget Process.
This years budget aimed to balance the need to maintain essential municipal services with the realities of rising costs, aging infrastructure and long term financial sustainability.
Over budget talks, council emphasized alignment with West Perth’s strategic priorities and the importance of maintaining community affordability while ensuring that critical infrastructure continues to be renewed.
The municipal levy increase comes with a 7.12% increase with this expected to equal out to $106 per year to the typical household or $160 per year at a farmland property impact.
