West Perth Advise Backyard Chickens in Light of Recent Confirmation of Avian Influenza

The Municipality of West Perth advised area residents that own backyard chickens of the recent confirmation of cases of Avian Influenza in Southwestern Ontario.

In the post they offer tips to best protect the flock. They include prevent contact of wild birds and other animals, frequently clean the coop, waterers, feeders and your clothing and learn to spot the signs of avian influenza and report it early to a vet.
