Wellington North receives proposal for internet tower North of Arthur

Wellington North Council received a letter at their August 9th meeting they received on July 12th, 2021 from Xplornet Communications regarding an internet tower to service the area from north of Arthur.

The towers proposed location is on 6th Line North East of Arthur. It would be 45 meters tall.

The purpose of the tower would be to improve service in the area. They state in the letter that the service currently doesn’t meet the company’s standards and needs of people in the neighbourhood.

The company says they first investigated sharing an existing tower in order to minimize the number of new antennas in the area but none were deemed suitable.
