Wellington North is looking into many different green initiatives.
At their recent meeting, council approved a recommendation to have staff look into a partnership with the county on a neighbourhood tree planting program.
Council also has approved having an annual tree planting day. This would have the township work alongside the county’s Green Legacy program as well as potentially with other partners.
CAO Mike Givens says these initiatives will help the township fill gaps in the urban areas which are in need of trees.
