Wellington North staff have wrapped up the first of its four stage study on having cannabis production and facilities in the township.
Part of the first step of the study included a review of policy, regulations as well as the best practices from a municipal level.
Later this spring, staff will begin their study for stage two of developing policy options and a zoning bylaw to bring to council on where production could take place.
Other stages include a public meeting and a final report with staff recommendations.
