Wellington County’s Children’s Early Years Division is set to receive $8.75 million from the Ministry of Education as part of the recent announcement of the federal and provincial agreement to reduce child care fees to $10 per day by 2026.
An initial fee reduction of 25 per cent took effect this month with rebates which are said to come to parents in May.
Luisa Artuso, Early Years Division Director said it likely won’t come until later as more administrative work is required by the province to determine who will receive what from the county’s share.
Artuso says they continue to work to ensure the rebates will arrive to parents.
