Emergency services were called to the scene south of Mount Forest at around 10 am to a single vehicle collision.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries but was pronounced deceased. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified.
The roadway was closed while the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement reconstructionists investigated the cause of the collision.
Anyone with any information related to the incident are asked to call the Wellington County OPP or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
The identity of the deceased will be withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
