The announcement follows a unanimous vote by the Library Board to permanently end the practice to they say further remove barriers for Wellington County Residents in accessing library services.
Overdue material fines had been suspended throughout 2021 due to Covid restrictions. The decision makes the move permanent.
Outstanding overdue fines will be forgiven effective January 1st.
Fees will continue to be charged for lost or damaged materials.
